Wildlife Dealer
Competent Authority
Section 48 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (as amended) provides for wildlife dealer's licences in Ireland. It is the role of the National Parks and Wildlife Service, to administer applications for wildlife dealers licences.
Licensing Procedures
Only licensed wildlife dealers in Ireland can sell protected wild animals (including parts or derivatives). In the interest of the conservation of a species, the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the local authority in Ireland may by regulation temporarily control the sale or purchase of certain protected species.
